Następnym przystankiem był Waszyngton. Miasto, przed którym ostrzegało mnie wielu…, bo korki i pełno urzędników… Pod swój dach przyjęła mnie wspaniała para Natalia i Victor. Pomimo, że mój przystanek w stolicy miał być bardzo krótki starali się, abym zobaczyła każdą większą atrakcję tego miasta.

eng. Fate smiled to me in Baltimore – I found the roof thanks to Couchsurfer family: Iris , Siri and Mike. They live in a beautiful house, which they overhaul by themselves. In one evening I heard the story of their home and their journey through the life. And so I started to travel from human to human, and although Baltimore amazed me with its architecture, order and climate of a small town… but today I know that the most important thing in this trip are the people, because they create the atmosphere of this expedition.
The next stop was Washington. Many have warned me about this city… because traffic jams and officials… I found shelter in house of Natalie and Victor. Although my stop in the capital supposed to be very short but thanks to my Hosts I saw major attraction of the city. Our plans haven’t been even crossed raging downpour. We all soaked to the last shreds.. but I won’t forget the monument „The Marine Corps War Memorial” depicting a moment when U.S. soldiers plug the flag at the top of Suribachi on the island of Iwo Jima. In the rain… after dark… great impression made on me a memorial to Korean War Veterans. Which presents soldiers in scale 1:1 breaking through the jungle in the rain. Prevailing weather made all visitors goose-bumps, because we thought we were passing ghosts.
In the morning appeared warnings about the possibility of flooding and strong electromagnetic discharges… it wasn’t bode well in particular that I had a plans to get to the mountains to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway, but in this weather this was absolutely impossible. My Hosts responded very quickly and offered me to stay with them for two more days. And I must admit that I didn’t regret that I stayed… especially when I looked what was happening outside – it was like a storm.
Thanks to the fact that I stayed I had the opportunity to watch live match of our polish NBA “raisin” (Marcin Gortat) with other Washington Wizards fans. And I passed my very first yoga class all thanks to the Natalie & Victor who made my stay in Washington a magical moment.
